DA/TDA - Accessories
BRIEF:
As a design assistant at Lululemon, I gained experience in accessory design working as part of the bag design team. I honed my Illustrator skills by creating and updating over 30% of the category’s technicals; reviewed prototypes; improved internal databases and reference documents to streamline workflow; assisted with photoshoots; and worked closely with designers, merchandisers, product developers, and external collaborators to problem-solve and refine designs.

Mainline
My primary role at Lululemon was creating and updating technicals for mainline bags.

Special Projects
Alongside my mainline role, I worked with the special projects team (collaborations, Pride, Team Canada, and Lunar New Year). In this role, I had more opportunities to be a part of the full design process, from brainstorming to design and review to presentation. I was able to work directly with external designers and a huge variety of internal teams and help bring unique twists to Lululemon's existing styles through graphics, prints, materials, and trims, as well as creating brand-new designs.

Artist Collaboration: Yolande Mutale

“Tight Club” was a series of collaborations between various artistes and Lululemon. These EBBs and charms were developed to showcase the art of Yolande Mutale. This project was led by the graphics team and allowed me to bring a bit of my hard goods and graphic design sides to the work. The accessories side of the project unfortunately ended up being cancelled right after final prototypes were completed.
WI25 Lunar New Year

This project was led by the colour and graphics teams. However, we were responsible for the accessories component, including developing a custom trim for the Crossbody Camera Bag.

Disney Graphics
Collaboration
This project was lead by the graphics team, but I was responsible for ensuring technicals where accurate and reflected mainline updates and that the graphic applications where up to standards.

Saul Nash X Lululemon

This collaboration includes some of the work I did at Lululemon that I'm most proud of. This is also one of the projects I was most involved in as a technical designer from initial lineplans and meetings with the designer to the first prototypes.
